The rights to the bestseller book “Meet Me at the Lake” have reportedly been bought by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, who will adapt it into a Netflix romantic comedy.
According to a Penguin Random House representative, the pair purchased the movie rights through their business Archewell Productions, which was verified to Forbes.
Numerous aspects of the book are reminiscent of Harry and Meghan’s own life tales.
Carley Fortune’s novel “Meet Me at the Lake” centers on the central characters Will and Fern, who meet in their 30s.
The pair has attempted to build a media empire with varying degrees of success.
The second season of Meghan Markle’s highly anticipated podcast “Archetypes” was revealed to be canceled by Spotify in June after the pair agreed to a $20 million agreement with the service for December 2020.
Additionally, Markle and Harry have an extended contract with Netflix that began with the debut of the documentary series “Harry & Meghan.”
From the beginning of their courting through the decision to permanently relocate to California, the television show chronicled the former working royals.
