Henry Ruggs III, a former wide receiver for the Las Vegas Raiders, reportedly pleaded guilty to two crimes linked to a drunk driving accident that claimed the life of a woman.
As a result, he was sentenced this week to a minimum of three years in prison and a maximum of 10 years.
According to investigators, Ruggs, a first-round draft selection in 2020, hit Tintor’s Toyota RAV4 in 2021 while traveling 156 mph in his Corvette Stingray, sending Tina Tintor’s car 571 feet in the process.
In the collision, Ruggs’ girlfriend also suffered injuries.
A blood test two hours after the deadly collision showed that Ruggs had a blood alcohol level of 0.161, which is more than twice the Nevada legal limit.

According to District Attorney Steven Wolfson, a DUI prosecution is “the most serious charge the law allows” in cases of drunk driving fatalities.
The outcome of the blood draw, which Ruggs’ attorneys contested, was the basis for the DUI causing death accusation.
Ruggs was cut by the Raiders and freed from jail the day following the collision on a $150,000 bail.
Since then, he has been confined to his house and is only permitted to go outside to exercise twice a week. Until his sentence, Ruggs will continue to be under house arrest.
