‘Barbie’ Film Breaks Major Box Office Record

Posted on August 28, 2023

“Barbie” is reportedly now on track to surpass “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2” as Warner Bros.’ highest-grossing international release.

According to a Variety report released on Sunday, “Barbie’s” weekend revenues exceeded $18.2 million and were produced from 12,852 screens across 75 different worldwide markets.

As of Sunday morning, the film, which released in theaters on July 21, had earned an incredible $1.34 billion globally and was still going strong.

According to Variety, “Barbie” is expected to beat “The Super Mario Bros. Movie,” and if that happens, the movie will be ranked as the best movie of the year at the global box office.

The film takes viewers on a journey through Ken and Barbie’s happy life in Barbie Land and contrasts it with the difficulties they encounter when they try to live among humans in the real world.

Barbie embarks on a quest to discover who she truly is and what her actual calling is, but she encounters difficulty along the road.
