Aaron Rodgers, the quarterback for the New York Jets, made another jab at Dr. Anthony Fauci on Tuesday when talking about his Achilles injury recovery.
During his weekly appearance on the Pat McAfee Show podcast, McAfee highlighted that some analysts are stating Rodgers is “defying science” with his speedy recovery from the injury he sustained in Week 1 of the 2023 NFL season.
“That’s what they’re saying about you, Shannon Sharpe said this morning.” McAfee said.
“Like we learned, if science is Dr. Fauci, you’re damn right I’m defying science.” Rodgers responded.
Rodgers continued by discussing his recuperation strategy and stating that he, his doctors, and his coaches are attempting to be prudent with regard to his return to play.
“I believe in the power of intention. I believe in the power of your mind and the will – will power. Basically, the entire time, I kind of said this is what I’d like to do – rehab-wise. Got some incredible people to work with, not just the Jets.” Rodgers continued.
Rodgers continued by pointing out that running backs Cam Akers of the Minnesota Vikings and J.K. Dobbins of the Baltimore Ravens both underwent the same procedure and returned to play in five months or less.
