At UFC 298, Ian Garry defeated welterweight opponent Geoff Neal by an overwhelming margin and rose four positions in the division rankings to No. 6.
Now he is calling out Trump supporting MMA star Colby Covington.
Garry is currently targeting Colby Covington, the UFC’s most recent interim welterweight champion and current No. 5 in the rankings.
Although the two competitors have not yet agreed to a fight, Garry has resolved to defeat him in front of former President Trump.
Ian Garry describes how he will beat Colby Covington:
“If Trump is in attendance, I will drag Colby in front of Trump and I will beat the mouth off. I will say this is what you created, this is MAGA”#TheMMAHour | @arielhelwani | @iangarryMMA pic.twitter.com/MY4fWpMP75

“All of the shit he will have said leading up to that fight, I’ll talk to him when I beat the fuck out of him in that octagon. If Trump’s in attendance, I will drag Colby in front of Trump, and I will beat the mouth off and say, ‘This is what you created.’” Garry said.
The “The Future”-nicknamed 26-year-old Irishman has a perfect record in professional mixed martial arts.
In November 2021, he debuted in the UFC and promptly dispatched Jordan Williams via TKO. After a span of five months, he maintained his successful record by defeating Darian Weeks by unanimous decision.
Covington, who is notorious for saying vile things about his opponents, is a supporter of Trump. At multiple events, the former president has been observed applauding the fighter from cageside.
In MMA, Covington is 17-4, while in the UFC, he is 12-3.
