According to a new report, a Florida man was apprehended by police after he allegedly assaulted a police officer with a Stanley cup and broke into a church.
On Saturday afternoon in Palm Bay, Florida, Timothy Bornman, 24, is purportedly responsible for infiltrating The Mission Church.
Officers who responded discovered the 24-year-old yelling and cursing at church members while brandishing a Stanley cup in his hand.
The outlet reported that Bornman, 24, allegedly made a threat when an officer approached him. The officer then instructed the suspect to lie down, and Bornman fled.
According to the affidavit, Bornman allegedly attempted to strike a second officer in the head with the Stanley cup after sitting down, standing up, and walking toward him.
The officer managed to avoid the cup, but he was still struck on the shoulder, according to the publication.
The suspect purportedly attempted to flee, but officers were able to tase and handcuff him.
