At the age of 96, Joan Benedict Steiger, a well-known actress from both stage and movie, has now reportedly departed this life.
She started performing when she was seven years old and later enrolled in the Rome Opera Ballet School to pursue ballet.
She was born in Brooklyn, New York. Stella Adler and Robert Lewis, two renowned acting instructors, were her teachers.
Over the course of several decades, Steiger portrayed himself in prominent TV series, including Days of Our Lives, General Hospital, and The Steve Allen Show.
A Month of Sundays and The Prize Fighter are two of her cinematic credits. Steiger had a prosperous career on theater as well, appearing in shows including Collected Stories and The Beauty Queen of Leenane.
She was the partner of actor Jeremy Slate until his passing in 2006, and she was married to actors John Myhers and then Rod Steiger. Joan Benedict Steiger has left a legacy of noteworthy performances and artistic accomplishments.
