On August 1, police reportedly arrested Akili McDowell, the star of “David Makes Man,” on charges of murder and theft.
According to online jail records, the 21-year-old celebrity was booked into the Harris County Jail with a bond of $400,000.
Law enforcement personnel responded to an incident on July 20 in the parking lot of an apartment complex near Wallisville and Uvalde in East Harris County, Texas, according to a Facebook statement posted by Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez on August 3. Gonzales stated that deputies discovered a male, reportedly in his twenties, with gunshot wounds and was subsequently pronounced dead on the site.

It is unknown how McDowell was recognized as a suspect. It is unclear whether the actor and Peralta knew each other.
It is presently unknown whether he has entered a plea or hired an attorney to speak on his behalf.
McDowell is set to appear in court on August 5 and October 9.
