According to a spokesperson for the coast guard, a German tourist reportedly passed away from a heart attack while being transported to a Spanish rescue helicopter after a shark severed her limb on Monday.
The shark attacked the 30-year-old woman while she was sailing off the Canary Islands.
The shark struck her while she was swimming alongside the ship.
After contacting the Moroccan coastguard, emergency services were informed of the situation and dispatched a military aircraft and helicopter.
The Dalliance Chichester, the vessel in which she was traveling, departed the Spanish port of Las Palmas on Saturday.
