Sunny Hostin, the anchor of “The View,” denied on Tuesday that she had compared white Republican women to “roaches” if they voted for GOP candidates.
Hostin and her ABC noon talk show cohosts spent much of Tuesday’s program discussing the midterm elections, which were already underway throughout the country, and Hostin attempted to backtrack on statements she made a few days before.
Republican cohost Alyssa Farah Griffin opened the discussion with a caution, stating she was concerned about the tone of the rhetoric many on the extreme left were using to attack their political opponents — but Hostin immediately cut her off.
The women began chatting over one other to the point that Whoopi Goldberg reprimanded them all and demanded that they “tone it down” so that people could understand what they were saying.
Hostin went on to imply that white suburban women supporting Republican were “like roaches voting for Raid.”
Griffin resumed the debate following a commercial break, expressing her worry that individuals on both sides were going too far with their personal assaults.
