Tiger Woods, 46, said on Monday that he will not play in the next Hero World Challenge event, which will be held in Albany, Bahamas, due to an injury incurred while training.
Every year, Woods hosts the Hero World Challenge, which allows a select number of top-ranked golf players to participate while raising funds for the Tiger Woods Foundation.
The event field includes the most recent winners of the four major PGA tournaments.
The top 11 eligible players from the Official World Golf Ranking, the tournament’s reigning champion, and two special exemption players chosen by the foundation.

Woods has won the Hero World Challenge five times since its inception in 2000.
In mid-July, Woods played his final competitive round at the Open Championship.
