Authorities reportedly issued an arrest warrant Wednesday for University of Georgia defensive tackle Jalen Carter for his suspected involvement in a speed racing incident in January that ended in two fatalities.
According to the Athens-Clarke County Police Department, Carter and a team staff member, Chandler LeCroy, raced their automobiles in the downtown Athens neighborhood at 2:30 a.m. Jan. 15, changing lanes on the other side of traffic before LeCroy and colleague Devin Whitlock were killed in a deadly collision.
According to investigators, alcohol impairment and speeding were major factors in the incident.
