Andrew McCutchen, an outfielder for the Pittsburgh Pirates, will reportedly miss the rest of the season due to a partial left Achilles tear.
McCutchen underwent an injury during the Pittsburgh Pirates’ 5-4 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers on Monday, and he was listed as 10-day injured on Wednesday by the Pittsburgh Pirates.
The outfielder initially believed he was fine, but was later shown to be mistaken, and he will now spend six weeks wearing a walking boot.
There is no time for McCutchen to make a comeback before the Pirates’ schedule, which has just three and a half weeks left. Prior to getting hurt, the 36-year-old was hitting well and enjoying a fantastic season.256 this year with 12 home homers and 43 RBIs.
Despite rumors that the player may retire, there is still optimism that McCutchen will play at least one more season.
The outfielder is motivated to stay in Pittsburgh long enough to hit 300 home runs because he presently has 299 in his career.
