The band claims that Trump was never granted consent to use their likeness.
According to reports, Victor Willis’ manager and wife have had enough. In a cease and desist letter filed on Monday, she demanded that Trump and his campaign stop utilizing the band’s music and image or risk being sued.
Joe Tacopina, a lawyer for Trump, declared he would avoid dealing with Willis’ wife.
“I will only deal with the attorney of the Village People, if they have one, not the wife of one of the members. But they should be thankful that President Trump allowed them to get their name back in the press. I haven’t heard their name in decades. Glad to hear they are still around.” Tacopina said.
