The Dartmouth College men’s basketball team cast a vote on Tuesday afternoon to approve the creation of the first-ever collegiate student-athlete labor union. With a 13-2 vote total, the outcome was resounding.
Not only is the vote historic, but it might also completely alter the NCAA’s current environment.
The organization currently only allows student-athletes to profit from name, image, and likeness (NIL) arrangements.

Dartmouth, which filed an appeal in an effort to rig the election or confiscate the ballots, has objected to the decision.
