According to the university, Andre Seldon Jr., a cornerback for Utah State, drowned at a reservoir in Utah on Saturday. He was twenty-two years old.
The Cache County Sheriff’s Office initiated a search for Seldon Jr. at Porcupine Reservoir on Saturday afternoon after receiving reports that the collegiate football player had not resurfaced after being observed cliff diving.
As per the publication, Seldon’s body was discovered at 9:05 p.m. following an extensive search that involved a Utah Department of Public Safety helicopter and a dive team.

ESPN reports that Seldon’s 2023 statistics with the New Mexico State Aggies, who he transferred from in the portal, include 37 unassisted tackles (16 assisted), one forced fumble, and one interception.
According to the outlet, Seldon relocated to Utah State in 2024 after spending the previous two campaigns at New Mexico State.
He was purportedly scheduled to commence his studies at Utah State University in the autumn of 2024.
