Jason Alexander, Britney Spears’ ex-husband, was detained by Tennessee police around 10:30 on Wednesday for stalking.
Alexander is still being held in custody, and a $50,000 bail has been set. According to TMZ, the specifics of his arrest are still unknown, and it’s also unclear whether his stalking accusations have anything to do with Britney Spears. His upcoming court hearing has not been made public information.
Alexander has had many prior legal run-ins in the past, including in June 2022 when he showed up as an unauthorized guest at Spears’ wedding to Sam Ashgari.
As Alexander attacked Spears’ house brandishing a knife and attempting to get past her security guards, he started recording on his phone, according to TMZ. He was able to enter her house, but security stopped him before he could meet the celebrity face to face.
Alexander was subject to a three-year restraining order against Britney soon after he was taken into custody at her house. In connection with the event, he was also charged with felony trespassing violence, vandalism, and stalking.
In exchange for the dismissal of his felony stalking and minor vandalism charges, Alexander entered a plea of not guilty to the counts of aggravated trespass and violence. For his acts, the judge mandated that Alexander spend 128 days in prison.
Before their union was dissolved, Alexander and Spears were wed for 55 hours.
