Dickey Betts, a founding member and longstanding guitarist of the Allman Brothers Band, has now reportedly passed away on Thursday at the age of 80.
The family of Betts released a statement on social media on the same day, informing about his demise.
The Allman Brothers Band was enshrined into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1995.
The skilled musician’s family expressed their condolences for Betts and requested privacy to mourn, assuring that they will provide updates once they have processed this devastating loss.
Betts was a highly esteemed member of the band.
Prior to his death, he faced prolonged health challenges that compelled him to withdraw from his music industry pursuits. He was diagnosed with cancer and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
