Recently, the “Game of Thrones” actor Kit Harington discussed psychological scarring and the impact that fame had on his life during a podcast appearance.
The 37-year-old actor described how, while starring in the successful HBO series, he developed an alcohol dependency. Particulars were disclosed by Harington in a forthcoming episode of the podcast “The Hidden 20%.”
“People would treat me like the character. But in my life I didn’t feel like that at all. And that [led me to] some psychological scarring,” he said of his time playing the “Game of Thrones” Harrington remarked.
Harington disclosed that he commenced alcohol treatment immediately following the conclusion of the show and subsequently received a diagnosis of attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
“I realized that my life was hinging on this. Luckily, it was the right place at the right time. I managed to forge a new life from there.” he said.
