According to inmate records, Judge Elect Doug Brimhall was accused of aggravated assault on a family or household member and arrested on Tuesday.
The 40-year-old resident of Jonesboro, Arkansas, was incarcerated at the Craighead County Detention Center at 10:15 a.m. and was released 16 minutes later.
According to Kati8 News, the allegation is based on an alleged incident that occurred on May 3.
The outlet reported that Brimhall allegedly arrived home intoxicated and stripped down to his underwear.
He then allegedly laid next to the victim, attempting to wake her up, as per the affidavit.
Brimhall and the alleged victim reportedly engaged in an argument after she awoke, as she was unable to comprehend the reason for Brimhall’s awakening.
The victim was allegedly berated by Mr. Brimhall, who then exited the room after spilling a bottle of water on her.
According to Kati8 News, Brimhall was purportedly outside “still in his underwear” when one of the witnesses returned home.
The outlet reported that he allegedly leaped onto his wife’s vehicle, causing the front windshield to shatter, shortly after she returned home.
