According to a judge’s decision, Lady Gaga will not be required to pay the $500,000 reward that she had offered for the safe return of her stolen canines.
The recording artist, whose real name is Stefani Germanotta, age 37, was successful in getting Jennifer McBride’s appeal for the reward money permanently dismissed.
The 53-year-old McBride sued the artist in February and asked for the award as well as $1.5 million in extra damages.
The judge also mentioned that McBride was charged with receiving stolen property in 2022 and entered a no contest plea.
In February 2021, there was a dog theft incident.
Prosecutors claimed that James Howard Jackson and two other people were driving around Hollywood “looking for French bulldogs.”
The Grammy Award-winning music star’s dogs were not expressly sought after.
They ran into Ryan Fisher, the singer’s dog walker, who was out with Koji and Gustavto, the singer’s two dogs.
Before the animals were seized, Fisher was attacked and shot.
In December 2022, Jackson was charged with attempted murder and entered a no contest plea; he was given a 21-year prison term.
A few days later, after originally being cleared of involvement in the case, McBride returned the dogs that had been taken.
The father of Jackson’s accomplice Jaylin White, Harold White, was later revealed to be the woman’s lover.
