Ronnie Platt, the vocalist of Kansas, disclosed on February 15 that he is currently undergoing treatment for thyroid cancer on social media.

Even though the medical report was troubling, the rock musician, who was 64 years old, kept an optimistic attitude.

In the course of his fight against the illness, Platt detailed the subsequent actions that he intends to take.

He addressed the fans who have been behind him and his career with the legendary rock band. He thanked them for their patronage.

In addition to expressing his gratitude to his followers, Platt reminded them that he is concentrating on his rehabilitation and his comeback to the music industry.

“For all of you asking, Tuesday I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer but before everyone gets all excited, it has a 99% survival rate, it has not spread. It’s contained to my thyroid. I just have to have my thyroid removed. Go through some rehab time and be right back in the saddle. I sincerely appreciate everyone’s positive thoughts and prayers. I have some absolutely amazing people going to bat for me!! as it has been put to me, this is just a bump in the road and will be behind me very soon! so everyone please CARRY ON!” Platt wrote on his Facebook page.
