An individual in South Korea was convicted in April for the deliberate killing of 76 cats and was subsequently sentenced to 14 months of imprisonment.
The Korean guy, whose identity remains unknown, allegedly carried out a series of terrible acts between late 2022 and the autumn of 2023. Court documents revealed that the individual harbored a genuine aversion towards cats, as they persistently scratched his automobile.
According to reports, the man employed scissors to kill the cats, strangled some till they died, and ran over one with his automobile.
The court decision states that the man both adopted animals and captured stray cats, and then proceeded to kill them.

The conviction underscored the rationale for the seemingly lenient 14-month sentence, which was based on the defendant’s lack of previous criminal record and his genuine remorse for his actions.
Moreover, it was determined that the man’s mental health condition was a driving factor behind the numerous incidents of cat killings.
