Derion Kendrick, a cornerback for the Los Angeles Rams, was taken into custody on Sunday after it was claimed that authorities discovered an illegal firearm in his car.
When Los Angeles Police Department officers stopped Kendrick for allegedly having improperly tinted windows, they allegedly found an open marijuana container, which led to a car search.
Kendrick was issued a citation for felony possession of a firearm in a car after the authorities discovered a pistol that turned out to be unregistered.

Sean McVay, the head coach of the Rams, said he was aware of the arrest but was holding off on making any comments until he got more details.
The 23-year-old cornerback was selected by the Rams in the sixth round of the 2022 draft, and they have used him extensively so far this season.
In Sunday’s victory over the Arizona Cardinals, he participated in almost all defensive snaps.
