Former “Family Feud” contestant Christopher Crisona has reportedly been arrested on multiple charges of child sexual abuse, alongside another individual, Father John Taggart.
The allegations involve abuse that occurred while they were in roles of trust at St. Thomas the Apostle School in Wilmington, Delaware.
According to Delaware Attorney General Kathy Jennings, the victim was in seventh and eighth grade at the time of the incidents.
Crisona faces several serious charges, including unlawful sexual contact, unlawful sexual intercourse, unlawful sexual penetration, and continuous sexual abuse of a child.
Jennings described the case as involving a disturbing pattern of abuse perpetrated by adults entrusted with the care of minors.
She emphasized that such cases are deeply distressing for both prosecutors and parents, yet they serve to fuel their commitment to seeking justice for victims.
At the time of his arrest, Crisona was reportedly employed as an elementary school teacher in Florida.
Notably, he had also taught at St. Thomas the Apostle School for a year and a half during the mid-1990s before being removed from his position following a student complaint.
Crisona gained public attention as a contestant on “Family Feud” in 2010 during Steve Harvey’s inaugural season. His family’s appearance on the show was memorable, as they almost secured a $20,000 cash prize, falling short by just three points.
As authorities continue to investigate the charges against Crisona and Taggart, it remains uncertain whether Crisona will be granted bond.
The case underscores the ongoing efforts to address child sexual abuse, particularly within institutions where children are meant to be safe.
