On the fourth play of the game for the Jets, 39-year-old four-time MVP Aaron Rodgers was tackled by defensive end Leonard Floyd as he attempted to spin out of the tackle.
His torso twisted as his left foot appeared to become stuck in the ground. His left calf, the same leg he strained in OTAs, could be seen vibrating in slow motion.
Zach Wilson will start for the Jets going forward.

They also have practice squad member and journeyman Tim Boyle. The addition of a second quarterback is anticipated.
The 2024 draft will also be impacted by Rodgers’ injury.
If Rodgers had played 65% of the snaps for the Jets this season, the second-round pick acquired in the Rodgers deal would have moved up to the first round.
