A video captured on Monday showed a horse dragging 19-year-old cowboy Austin Broderson through the arena while trampling on his head.
The 20-second ordeal occurred while Broderson was a participant in the National Western Stock Show (NWSS) in Colorado. As per the NWSS, he was transported to a hospital due to the severity of his injuries.
The video contains footage of Broderson grappling with his horse’s rear legs and failing to regain control of the animal as it tramples him.
According to 9News, witnesses stated that the incident began when Broderson’s hand became entangled in the horse’s rear handle. He was then reportedly rendered incapacitated and heavily hemorrhaged.
