Susan Lucci, a famous actress and soap opera legend, reportedly shared an update on her health after undergoing two heart surgeries in four years.
According to People, the “All My Children” star halted for an interview after the 75th annual Writers Guild Awards on Sunday to assure fans that she is doing well after undergoing another heart treatment in January.
Lucci just had a stent placed in her artery and remarked on her rehabilitation.
Lucci has been an advocate for the American Heart Association while suffering heart disease.
She went on to relate the terrifying journey that brought her to this newfound feeling of health awareness.
Lucci stated that in October 2018, she began experiencing terrible, crushing chest pressure that felt like an elephant bearing down on her, as well as discomfort around her rib cage.
Lucci had suffered a 90% blockage of the major artery and required emergent surgery.
She was later diagnosed with a genetic cardiac disease that was passed down from her father’s side.
At the time, two stents were implanted.
She is now an advocate for health awareness and encourages people to maintain their medical check-ups up to date.
