On Tuesday, Jenna Fischer, the heroine of “The Office,” posted a message on Instagram that disclosed her diagnosis of Stage 1 triple-positive breast cancer in December 2023.
The grueling treatment she endured as part of her battle against the disease was documented in the slides she posted alongside the message.
“October is breast cancer awareness month. I never thought I’d be making an announcement like this but here we are. After completing surgery, chemotherapy and radiation I am now cancer free,” she wrote.
Fischer clarified that the mammogram was equivocal, prompting her to pursue a breast ultrasound, which was subsequently followed by a biopsy, which ultimately resulted in the diagnosis.
In January, the star of “The Office” disclosed to her admirers that she had undergone a lumpectomy and had the tumor removed.
