According to a video uploaded to TikTok on Sunday, an Australian man prevented a kangaroo from drowning his pet dog in an outback river.
The video, which has since been taken down from the video-sharing platform, was submitted by the user @milduramartialarts1, and it depicts the terrified dog being held with its head just above the water when the man starts to fight back.
The man was documenting the confrontation when a kangaroo sprang at him with its claws visible, knocking the phone out of his grasp and blacking out the video.

Then a kangaroo and a man may be heard fighting inaudibly.
The kangaroo then freezes in place in the river, starring at the smiling guy and his dog as they make their way back to shore.
The man, who had evidently managed to free his dog, then picks up his phone to record the encounter’s conclusion.
