Ian Gelder, aged 74, succumbed to complications associated with bile duct cancer on Monday.
Gelder’s performance as Kevan Lannister, the younger sibling of Lord Tywin Lannister (Charles Dance), in the acclaimed HBO series “Game of Thrones,” in which he appeared in 12 episodes, earned him widespread acclaim.
Ben Daniels, Gelder’s companion, announced the news of his husband’s demise and conveyed condolences on Instagram.
Throughout his illustrious television career, Gelder appeared in “Doctor Who,” “Snatch,” and “His Dark Materials,” among others, and had a substantial impact on the “Dark Ditties” horror film series.

In addition to his notable screen appearances, Gelder was a highly regarded stage actor.
His talents adorned numerous productions, most notably “The Crucible,” “The Taming of the Shrew,” and “The Front Page,” among others.
