David Beckham, a former professional soccer player, has now reportedly initiated legal proceedings against actor Mark Wahlberg about their involvement in F45 Training.
The complaint pertains to a partnership in which Mark Wahlberg, known for his roles in “Arthur the King” and his previous career as a rapper under the name Marky Mark, holds a 36% stake in the company.
Beckham’s lawsuit claims that he was deceived and highlights a loss of $10 million due to not receiving the stock that was promised to him until its value had significantly declined.
Beckham consented to assume the role of the brand’s ambassador after developing a friendship with Wahlberg, subsequent to his family’s relocation to Los Angeles.
He was likely recruited because of his immense fame and extensive presence on social media. Beckham and F45 shared a sequence of photographs with the renowned celebrity promoting F45. However, both parties have subsequently deleted those images.
Beckham is pursuing legal action against the Mark Wahlberg Investment Group (MWIG) as well as F45 founders Adam Gilchrist and Rob Deutsch.
The group requested the judge to dismiss the complaint, which they characterized as “fraudulent,” but the judge ruled in favor of the opposing party.
